we have designed “Obstacle Course Specific” training to give you the required combination of Endurance, Strength, Flexibility,
Balance & Mental Toughness to complete these courses/races with confidence.

Group Training Sessions currently held at the studio at 7.00am Saturdays, 6pm & 7pm Wednesdays. (Bookings Essential)
Costs :- $12 per 60 minute session.
$100 for 10 session Prepaid Pack.
Already have your own group/team & need some specific training.
Raced before & struggled with the rope climb, rope traverse, monkey bars, balance beams, crawling, sandbag carry, log carry, cable reel climb, spear throw, parallel bars, hercules hoist, roman rings, cargo net etc then contact us to arrange your own group session times.
N.B. Our sessions combine building specific foundation strength, training on actual obstacles with agility & cardio intervals to replicate real race conditions.

I have a background in triathlon and have always wanted to try obstacle course racing (OCR) but wasn’t sure how to train and get involved to race OCR. I would strongly recommend Wal and his studio for anything you need, from a beginner, someone who wants to give Tough Mudder a go or take their OCR to the next level! His studio has so much fun stuff to try and get used to what you are likely to face in an OCR race – I can’t wait to race an OCR and with Wal’s studio and OCR experience, I feel much better prepared!
A great environment to keep fit and healthy. Wal is a legend and tailors your workouts to your ability. Being a keen obstacle course participant, it was so refreshing to find a local place to be able to train and learn how to master some of the most challenging obstacles. Great venue!
Wal is an awesome personal trainer who has (and shares) a wealth of knowledge across both OCR & PT. He tailors each workout to target & strengthen specific areas, taking into consideration that not everyone is built the same and needs different challenges. The venue is amazing with such a great variety of equipment and something for every fitness level. LOVE the Obstacle Course challenge equipment & challenging myself. I dislike routine, so I love that there is such a great variety of equipment and a new challenge every week. So glad I found this local/hidden gem on Watland Street in Springwood. Highly recommend everyone coming at least once. Oh, and I was lucky enough to see Wal filming a guy who’ll be trying out for next season’s Ninja Warrior! Whoa!
Wal and AFS were recommended to me when a group of us decided to train for Tough Mudder this year. From the first session I realised this was a different type of gym and something I could really get into. Such a different type of workout where you can actually see the improvement in your strength and fitness every week by the milestones you achieve, like getting higher on the rope climb or further across the wall traverse compared to the previous session. I never thought I would be able to climb a rope or jump and pull myself over a wall, but Wal took the time to teach me the techniques for success and it didn’t take long at all! I loved it so much this training is now a part of my routine! Thanks so much Wal!
AFS has a very welcoming and supportive atmosphere and is very reasonably priced. Wal teaches you the techniques to tackle challenging obstacles like the rope climb, high wall and rope traverse which are staples in most races. His OCR Training sessions are a fun and challenging way to keep up your strength and fine tune your skills during the off season or until your next race.
I train here for Obstacle Course Racing and it is a fantastic place for anyone wanting to complete a Tough Mudder type event. Wal will take the time to teach beginners how to tackle the obstacles, like climbing a rope and he always has new obstacles modeled from the races for the experienced racer to improve their game. It is a great welcoming, supportive environment.
Great place to train, you can scale nearly any obstacle/exercise to your fitness level and continue to improve. Brilliant place to train, particularly for obstacle course racing!
